“It’s all about listening and building relationships with our members. It involves working with our members, one-on-one, and helping them solve whatever challenges they are facing. We want them to feel comfortable contacting us for help,” says Karen Solek, ASI’s assistant manager, membership support.
It’s amazing how much the ASI member support team accomplishes in one day. By lunch time, on average, a member support representative has already serviced over 35 phone inquiries! The average number of inquiries per quarter is more than 15,000 for the department. They even support calls from Spanish speaking clients – over 350 per quarter.
“Now our members feel they have a central place to go,” says Solek, “And we are able to interact with one member at a time to give them the attention they need.”
Rosa Hernandez, member support representative, says, “The most rewarding part is helping a distributor that has struggled to get help in the past, due to not being able to speak English. Spanish-speaking members now feel more comfortable calling ASI because they now know that they will be understood and that their issues will be resolved.”
Tamara Reckard, Manager, Member Services Business Center says, “Our team is equipped to handle anything. Last year on the first day of the ASI SHOW!®Chicago, we answered 346 phone inquiries. That was a record day!”
